The BIOPOLIS <\/a>intends to leverage the Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources from the University of Porto (CIBIO\/InBIO\/UP) to a Excelence Center in Basic and Environmental Biology, Ecosystem Monitoring and Agrobiodiversity <\/span><\/span>, able to respond to the new challenges posed today in cutting-edge areas such as genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics and environmental monitoring.<\/p>
